Chiessi is a village of 200 people on the Costa del Sole, west side of the island, granite cliffs and no beach resorts. Those who come here usually do so on purpose: lovers of windsurfing, sunsets over Corsica, of an Elba that doesn't resemble postcards. Il Posto delle Fragole is the kiosk on the promenade, open from morning until late at night, run by Renato and Cristina. Ice creams, fried food, sandwiches, cocktails, beers. The only place in the village to stop for a drink.
